The Assistant Finance Manager will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for helping oversee the transactional finance function for the London and Paris studios.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting in overseeing the transactional finance function for the UK and France: AP, Fixed assets, VAT and Payroll tax reporting, bank recs and credit card management
• Liaising with a part-time Accounts Payable Assistant and a full-time Payroll and Finance Admin Coordinator
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts: balance sheet recs, accruals, prepayments, salary control accounts and intercompany transactions
• Monthly departmental overhead cost analysis with the support departments
• Bank reconciliations and reconciliation of the actuals in the cash forecast
• Point of contact for all expenses, general purchasing queries, business surveys
• Assisting with the year end audits for the UK and France
• Assisting in budgeting and monthly analysis of departmental reports
• Contributing to the ever evolving processes to ensure continuous improvement in Finance
• Awareness of other roles within the team, providing ad hoc finance support as required

What we are looking for

• Part qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent) with an undergraduate degree in Accountancy or Finance
• Fluency in French language is essential
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (both in French and English) with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the company, particularly with non-financial colleagues
• Previous experience working in the media, entertainment or creative industries
• Tech Savvy – strong Excel/Google Sheets skills, experience with QuickBooks and/or NetSuite
• Approachable, friendly, self-sufficient with a ‘can-do attitude’ and willing to ask and answer questions
• Interest in Visual Effects and the Film industry
• Knowledge of both UK and French GAAP would be desirable, but not essential
