One Of Us is a visual effects studio founded in London in 2004 by co-directors Rachael Penfold, Dominic Parker and Tom Debenham.

We're looking for Compositors to join our growing team in Paris. As a Compositor, you will play a crucial role by seamlessly integrating visual elements. You will work closely with our 2D supervisors, Leads and artists, and other members of One Of Us to ensure the highest quality balancing the technical and creative elements of each shot you work on. 

Responsibilities:

• Creating visually stunning and photo-real visual effects for high-end Film and TV projects
• Collaborating with the Visual Effects Supervisor to evaluate the creative and technical approach to assigned shots
• Integrating 2D, 3D and live action elements to high-end visual effects film standard
• Taking responsibility for own workload, time management and notes/feedback actions required by Supervisors
• Balancing the creative and technical aspects of each shot
• Working with a good knowledge of colour space principles

What we're looking for:

• An excellent working knowledge of and production experience with Nuke
• A familiarity with stereo compositing and working with multiple render passes
• Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills
• A pro-active and collaborative work ethic
• A strong eye for detail, composition, colour and lighting
• The ability to multitask, prioritise and problem solve
• An understanding of colour space principles
• Ability to lead teams and carry out technical checks for other artists

Hours and location

Our core hours are 09:30am to 18:30pm, or 10:00am to 19:00 pm Monday to Friday. We have a great office in the 20th arrondissement, where our artists are based.

All roles, including hybrid/remote opportunities, at One of Us require candidates to reside in the UK or France, depending on the location of the role, or must be willing to relocate for the duration of the contract. All candidates must disclose if they have an existing Right to Work in the relevant country, or would require sponsorship support, i.e. Visa.

Le compositeur numérique d’images senior intègre de façon homogène tous les éléments d’un plan d’effets visuels et travaille en étroite collaboration avec le superviseur des effets visuels et le superviseur 2D.

Principales Responsabilités: 

• Accomplir des tâches de composition d’image numérique de grande complexité
• Déterminer les meilleures techniques et approches créatives possibles en collaboration avec le superviseur aux effets visuels et l’artiste « Lead Comp »
• Résoudre les problèmes visuels, artistiques et techniques lorsque possible ou alors transmettre l’information au département concerné (modelling, texture, éclairage 3D, etc.)
• S’assurer de la cohérence de la composition finale des éléments d’un plan d’effets visuels
• Harmoniser les aspects créatifs et techniques de chacun des plans
• Intégrer les éléments 2D, 3D en peaufinant la finition afin de produire des images photo-réalistes respectant les hauts standards de qualité de l’industrie
• Encadrer et conseiller les artistes en composition numérique moins expérimentés, transmettre des connaissances et des techniques
• Respecter les échéanciers en gérant son temps adéquatement

Qualifications et Expérience:

• Excellente maîtrise du logiciel Nuke
• Expérience de travail sur des images en prise de vues réelles et connaissances sur la couleur, lumière (reflection, refraction, ombres), perspective et composition

Ces postes sont ouverts aux contrats CDD avec extension potentielle à des contrats CDI. Les candidats retenus qui nécessiteraient un visa pour travailler sur le sol français recevront les détails nécessaires sur les démarches à suivre.
